How To Draw and Paint Drawgirl
Step 37

We continue Drawgirl by explaining and illustrating the thirty-seventh step of this pastel portrait painting.

In its previous state the mayo sandwich was open faced. It is now turned into a regular closed sandwich by having the top skin color bread slice placed in various locations all over her face. A color in the yellow family such as yellow ochre is used for the highlight spanning most of her bottom lip. A Rembrandt soft pastel color (either caput mortuum red or mars violet) is used for the shadow under her bottom lip. A similar color is used on her nose. Caput mortuum red is one of those colors that pastellists seem to like very well... maybe it is the funny name that makes it inviting.

Your coloring process continues still in... Step 38.
